Proximity sensor for auto bed levelling switch on a 3D printer. This proximity switch triggers when it is 4mm and less from a metal surface. This sensor runs from 5V, so it provides a 5V signal to be used directly as an end stop switch.

Do I need a PNP or NPN proximity sensor?
The following diagrams will show you which sensor you need. Generally, NPN sensors are used for 3D printers and PNP sensors are used for CNC machines.
Please note: These diagrams use 24V to power the proximity sensor, but this product is a 5V sensor, so it required 5V to run, not 24V.
